Corporate Accountant

The Role

AIM is a deep-tech company that builds the most advanced High-Power Laser systems in the world. Our team’s focus is on applying cutting edge research to protect people from emerging threats. We need a Corporate Accountant to join the team and support the Co CEO and our external accounting and tax partners across both Australia and Canada.  

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare financial statements and reporting
• Monitor and analyse financial data, identifying trends and variances with emphasis on capital expenditure, personnel costs and operating expense review
• Work with external accountants to ensure tax compliances
• Overseeing Payroll
• Manage month-end processes including journal review, preparation of monthly management accounts and reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable duties
• Assist with day-to-day finance operations
• Assisting with other ad-hoc accounting tasks, as required

To be successful in this role you will be:

• A Chartered Accountant or Chartered Personal Accountant
• Have at least 3 years accounting experience
• Be energised by working in a complex and fast paced environment
• Have excellent attention to detail

• Xero
• Excel
• Dynamics

What you need to know 

An Australian Government Defence security clearance is required for this role (NV1), applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain a clearance. To learn more about clearances please visit – http://www.defence.gov.au/AGSVA 

This role is required onsite, with flexibility to select working days and hours, in line with supporting Company policies and procedures.  

AIM is an ‘all hands’ company and will require support for other Operational areas, as the requirements grow with the company.
